Thank you for your interest in the MTDA Contemporary Mathematics Dual Credit course, available via a partnership between Montana Digital Academy and our valued partner, Helena College.

This course is a semester-long course that results in three (3) college credits.

One Two Free

This course qualifies for the Montana University System’s “One Two Free” program, an initiative that allows for up to six college credits at no tuition rate for Montana high school students.

Course Prerequisite and Placement Requirements

Contemporary Mathematics Dual Credit students must be either 16 years of age or be of junior or senior standing.  Students that don’t meet those requirements must fill out a waiver form, available from Helena College: LINK.

The Contemporary Mathematics Dual Credit course requires students to meet minimum test score requirements set by Helena College.  This is not negotiable and must be completed within the timeline stated below.

Contemporary Mathematics (Math 105) requires a math score of 20 on the ACT or 490 on the SAT.  If the student doesn’t meet that score, she/he must take the Accuplacer test via Helena College.  The test is only offered at Helena College, or at one of sixteen other locations across the state of Montana.  Information about this process can be obtained from Helena College directly:  LINK.

College Registration Timelines

Students must first be registered in MTDA systems, per the semester briefing.

Registration deadlines are set by Helena College and are firm.  Students must meet all requirements to qualify for dual credit.  Students that do not complete registration will be dropped from the MTDA course.  This course is not available for high school-only credit.

• Monday, February 3, 2020: Dual Enrollment applications are due to Helena College by 5 pm.  The dual enrollment application and registration form at available on Helena College’s dual enrollment website:  LINK.
• Monday, February 10, 2020: Last day for dual enrollment Accuplacer exams
