Pre-Calculus A & B
Course Length:
Two one-semester courses (students must independently register for each semester)
Course Description:
This course brings together and extends the concepts of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2/Trigonometry including the study of functions (polynomial, rational, logarithmic, trigonometric, and exponential), analytic geometry, vectors, and an introduction to limits/derivatives. Successful completion of this course prepares students for AP Calculus.
Prerequisites:
Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, or course equivalents

Required Materials:
Textbook: Demana et al, Precalculus: Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic 8th edition (eBook), Pearson Education.
This course uses an electronic text which will be provided by Montana Digital Academy.
Calculator: Students will use a physical graphing calculator which the student will provide. Graphmatica Software may also be used for students without graphing calculators. This is an optional graphing utility software.

This specific course requires MathType software, word processing programs with mathematical figures or the ability to scan and send in written work if either of these software are not available.
