Please see this new part of our main website for updates for site facilitators and schools:

This will break the email update function, however, we are looking at options for bringing that back with our main site.
Thanks,
Jason

Hi site facilitators,
I REALLY hope you are off enjoying your weekend at this point, however, you may new enroll students in MTDA Connect credit recovery courses through GeniusSIS. It works almost the same as an original credit course, but, you choose “Fall 2011 Connect” as the term and then the course.
Thanks for your patience!

Greetings site facilitators!
As you may have noticed, we’ve experienced some delays in syncing our enrollment system for our MTDA Connect Credit Recovery Program (using PLATO) this week. We still plan to open access for students Tuesday if those final technical issues get worked out today. However, we wanted to give you an intermediate step to work on in the meantime so you can be best prepared for enrolling students and we wanted to give you information on how that will work.
First, you can (at any time now), log into GeniusSIS: http://mtda.geniussis.com
From there, you can register students under your students tab following these directions (note that you need to stop at step 4 right now): http://montanadigitalacademy.wikispaces.com/GeniusSIS+Information+for+Local+Schools
Please don’t enroll students into any Fall 2011 Connect term classes until you get the “all clear” announcement that it is fine to do so.
Note, please do get your students enrolled in any Fall 2011 Original Credit classes (they start Tuesday 9/6/11) or MLS Language Sampler classes (for middle schools that start first session on 9/13/11)
Please direct any questions you may have to our staff at 406-243-4619 or to Rayleen, Ryan or Jason as needed.
Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend,
The MTDA Team

Hello MTDA site facilitators!
A couple of quick updates before the long weekend.
1.) A reminder that Tuesday, September 6th is the late day where we will guarantee an enrollment will be serve in original credit courses. While our add deadline is September 13th, we won’t open up additional sections after 5pm Tuesday. After that time, if we are full in a specific class, we are full.
2.) Another reminder that MTDA will not be paying for AP textbooks for this school year. We will send out a final reminder notice to students today but please help us and your students by discussing this with them. Text needs are in the course catalog here.

Good morning site facilitators!
Greetings from the Montana Digital Academy curriculum office. I will be posting regular updates this week to keep you current with upcoming deadlines in our program. If at any point you have questions, please either email (preferred) or call.
Fall 2011 Information
Please see the top tab of this site facilitator page for Fall 2011 Registration Information. It is important that you review that information, which includes calendars and course availability.
Student Orientation
New to our Fall, 2011 program, MTDA will offer a series of live orientation session to help answer questions from students and their parents. The sessions will be run by MTDA staff and include LOTS of time for questions and answers. We will also archive the sessions so students can view later.
Pre-registration is required. Details, dates and times and pre-registration information is available here.
Usernames and Passwords
It is incredibly important that site facilitators put in accurate email addresses in GeniusSIS as the student will be emailed login information. That information is sent IMMEDIATELY after program registration, so, please don’t tell students to wait for that information as it should be to them immediately.
Site facilitators have the ability to look up usernames and passwords. PLEASE do this for your students that don’t receive the information right away. Details here.
AP Textbooks
As previously announced, MTDA will NOT cover the costs of advanced placement textbooks for this coming year. Please help facilitate by talking with your local student and securing a plan as soon as possible to help the student acquire the book.
Credit Recovery Courses
MTDA is changing the way we enroll students for credit recovery this fall. Details will be released as soon as the technical procedures are finalized.
Please email or call with questions!

We are making some modifications to our standard drop procedure for Summer 2011 to account for the very short deadlines and the lack of local staff at individual schools.
First, if we receive a drop request from parents or students before our drop deadline, we will honor the request. It was our experience in past semesters that the vast majority of students that request a drop stop participating in a class meaning we are paying for unutilized resources.
Second, we will send out warning emails to students that aren’t participating in courses today and tomorrow morning. If students don’t start in the courses before the drop deadline (end of the day Thursday), we will process a drop on our end. Students (and you) are free to contact my office and discuss special circumstances, but, our experience also tells us that kids that don’t get started in courses on time generally don’t finish.
Please help us conserve our resources.
Thanks,
Jason
