March 2016 Credit Recovery Announcements

Attention all sites utilizing MTDA credit recovery:

Happy spring from MTDA!

Two announcements related to the credit recovery program:

Spring/Summer enrollment: It was our original intention to CLOSE credit recovery enrollment on March 16th, however, we are going to be changing the way we provide coaching services for Summer 2016 based on feedback from schools. At this point, if you have a student that you would like to enroll in a course, they will be a SPRING 2016 student until further notice. Do not enroll students at this point with an expectation that they will be able to roll into summer.

Proctoring Requirements for Credit Recovery: A reminder: per the site facilitator handbook, the credit recovery program requires direct school district proctoring for all assessments in the credit recovery program. Under no circumstances should proctors be giving PINs out to directly students for taking tests outside of your secure environment. Since the program is based off of the ability to retake exams, there is no flexibility in this requirement. If you have questions about this requirements, please contact support and we’d be happy to schedule a call with you.

MTDA Office Closed on Monday, February 15, 2016

Montana Digital Academy offices will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2016 for President’s Day. No teacher services are available on that day and the help desk will not be monitored.

2015-2016 AP Bulletin

Please see this link to access the 2015-2016 AP Bulletin from the College Board. This information details the AP exams later this spring. Please review this information with your counselor and site facilitator ASAP.

Spring 2016 AP Testing

As a reminder, MTDA is not able to administer or facilitate AP exams as we are a distance learning program. Students will need to work with counselors or administrators in their home district to discuss access and options.

High School Original Credit: Drop Deadline for Spring 2016 is Tuesday, February 9, 2016

We are now starting our 4th week at MTDA and we have an important deadline tomorrow. Our drop deadline for Spring 2016 is Tuesday, February 9, 2016. After tomorrow, students that are dropped due to inactivity or by request will receive a F/WF grade for reporting on their local report card.

Is your current MTDA class not for you? That’s fine! Just visit your counselor, principal or site facilitator at your local school so they can put a drop request on your behalf. If you don’t know who to go to at your local school, contact us at support@montanadigitalacademy.org and we are happy to help.

Again, tomorrow is the deadline, so, act quickly!

Reminder: Final Enrollment Deadline for Spring 2016 High School Original Credit is Tuesday, January 26, 2016

A reminder that Tuesday, January 26, 2016 is the FINAL deadline for enrollment in open sections of the high school original credit program. No enrollments will be taken after that date!

High School Original Credit: Open Enrollment Closed; Most Classes Still Open

Hello from the Montana Digital Academy offices in Missoula! As previously announced, open enrollment ended on our “Guaranteed Enrollment Deadline” on January 14th. However, we have added sections to as many courses as possible to keep enrollments open. A list of open classes appears at this link. The list is updated in real time. Enrollment in open courses is first come, first served. We are unable to reserve spots.

The final deadline for enrollment is Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 6pm. We do want to caution you that students starting late in the program often experience trouble getting caught up to speed. We ask that you assist the student and MTDA teacher by pushing that student to get logged in right away and completing assignments.

Credit Recovery Announcement: End of Fall 2015 Semester Information

Friday, January 15, 2016 is the end of the Fall 2015 Credit Recovery session. We have evolved our end of semester process to make it more school and student friendly, so, we’d like you to review our procedure document here: link.

MyBrainShark resources not loading in Credit Recovery Courses

We are aware that resources using the MyBrainShark website are not loading. We are actively working to correct this problem by replicating the presentations on our own server.

Students, please submit a support ticket to support@montanadigitalacademy.org with the class name and Module and Lesson number that has this MyBrainShark issue. We will prioritize uploading a PowerPoint version of the presentation so you can continue on your learning path. We will also be rolling out replicated versions of the video presentation as quickly as possible.

We’d like to announce our holiday schedule. We will be running a limited schedule from December 19, 2015 to January 3, 2016.

During that time:

Teacher services will not be available. You are encouraged to email your teachers with any issues, however, you will likely not receive a response until January 4th.
The MTDA offices in Missoula are closed on December 25th and January 1st. We will observe our normal business hours on other week days, 8am-5pm.
Support desk services are available, but may be limited or delayed. Support tickets should be directed to support@montanadigitalacademy.org.

Hello from Montana Digital Academy!

Montana Digital Academy will be closed from 4pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 to 8am, Monday, November 20, 2015 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

During that time, our online classrooms will remain open, however, our offices and help desk will be closed. There will also be no teacher services available.
