MTDA Blast (Info) Sessions on Retooled Connect Credit Recovery Program

MTDA will be offering a series of online “Blasts” designed to provide information to busy administrators during the 2015-16 school year.

What is a blast?  It is a short, “bite sized”, concentrated online informational session on a topic which is completed in 20 minutes!

Knowing how busy school administrators are especially at this time of year MTDA is launching the first of several online informational “Blast “sessions to provide information on its significantly retooled Connect credit recovery program which is ready to launch in the fall of 2015. Blasts are designed to provide the opportunity for administrators (and members of their teams) to drop into an informational session and gain knowledge and understanding and even ask questionsall in just 20 minutes!  Blasts are offered 3 times a day so that you can choose the time that best fits your schedule.

Among several key changes in the retooled Connect program is that it will no longer utilize the Plato Learning course content but will retain the mastery learning approach for students using MTDA created courses.  The new Connect will feature the need for a more engaged role for the local support person at your school while at the same time significantly increasing the quantity and quality of reporting and communication between MTDA academic coaches and the local support person, students and parents.

The blasts on the retooled Connect program will be offered August 17, 19, 24 & 26 at 9:00 & 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM each day.  Join the time that’s right for you and invite your key team members!

Credit Recovery Exit Details

Montana Digital Academy’s Spring 2015 credit recovery semester will end on Friday, June 5, 2015. Here are some specific details about how we will proceed at the end of the semester.

  • As has been the case since Fall 2013, we will not transfer progress from semester to semester and students were expected to complete the class within the semester parameters. Students who do not complete a Spring 2015 class will need to restart the semester curriculum if they reenroll in the Summer 2015 or Fall 2015 program.
  • Friday June 5, 2015 is the final day of the semester program. Extensions are only available if the student has an individual situation justifying an extension (reasons may include a family emergency during the last week, illness impacting the last week or other acute emergency). To discuss the situation, please contact the support desk, support@montanadigitalacademy.org.
  • If a student believes they have completed a class, they can help facilitate their exit by contacting their academic coach via email ASAP.
  • Due to the volume of offline assignments submitted at the end of the term, students and sites should expect a minimum of a one-business-day turnaround in completion of grading of all offline assignments.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of our support staff and we’ll be happy to assist. support@montanadigitalacademy.org
